October 2026 · A Letter from the Studio

It’s been a while,
art friend.

I’m still here! A full year has passed since my last newsletter, and if you needed a moment to think, “Wait, who is this again?”—I understand.

Being a full-time independent artist means wearing a lot of hats. Somewhere between the painting and everything around it, my “monthly” newsletter slipped to the back burner. So let’s catch up.

My work keeps changing, and I’m learning to trust where it takes me. Organic forms have become increasingly present: suggestions of plants, creatures, and places that feel almost familiar, without belonging to any one landscape. Years spent living among the trees have a way of finding their way onto the canvas.

I’m interested in that space between a spontaneous mark and a considered decision—letting a painting surprise me while taking the time to listen to it. These dreamlike worlds are where I’m spending much of my attention now.

Below are a selection of works to explore, a November invitation to Cape May, and an open house date for your calendar. Thank you for coming back into the studio with me.

A moment worth sharing

One milestone I’m grateful to share is the New Exhibitor Award at the 96th Juried Show at Phillips’ Mill in 2025. It sits alongside exhibitions including Mirrored Hues at the Arts Council of Princeton and Neomenia at Jawbone Gallery.

Sharing the work beyond the studio is part of the conversation, too. Thank you for looking closely, asking questions, and continuing to follow it.

Oh wait, one more thing!

A Novel Idea — Jawbone Gallery group exhibition

A Novel Idea

Group exhibition · November 21–January 4

I’m participating in A Novel Idea at Jawbone Gallery, opening November 21. This project has me following my curiosity into new territory, working through layers and letting an idea lead the way.

I’ve shared a few clues about the novel behind my work on Instagram. If you’ve been following along, you may already have a guess.

Save the Date

December 5
Open House

I’m also planning an open house on December 5. I’d love to see you, catch up, and share the work in person.

Keep the date open—I’ll share the visiting details closer to the day.

Stay a little longer

If something here speaks to you, write back. Whether you have a question about a painting or simply want to say hello, I’d love to hear from you.

Thank you for being part of this community and for making space for the work as it continues to grow.

Peace & Gratitude,
Christina
